What Does Laser Hair Removal Feel Like?

Preparation Is Part of the Treatment

For laser hair removal to work effectively, the hair follicle needs to remain intact.

That means waxing, tweezing, threading, and epilating should be avoided during your treatment series. Shaving, however, is encouraged, and we typically recommend closely shaving the treatment area approximately 24 hours before your appointment.

Sun exposure and tanning should also be avoided before treatment, and the skin should be free of self-tanner.

Just as importantly, tell your provider about new medications, prescription skincare, recent sun exposure, or changes to your skin before every appointment. Thoughtful preparation allows us to treat more precisely and protect the health of your skin throughout the process.
