How Dysport® Fits Alongside Botox®
Dysport® and Botox® Cosmetic belong to the same family of treatments. Both use botulinum toxin type A to temporarily reduce activity in treated muscles, but they are distinct formulations with different units of measurement.
A Dysport® unit is not interchangeable with a Botox® unit. Comparing unit counts or prices per unit alone can therefore be misleading. Your provider will explain the recommended treatment and total cost before you proceed.

A Gradual Change
Dysport® develops over time. In clinical studies, more than half of participants reported improvement in their frown lines within two to three days. Some noticed changes as early as 24 hours, although individual timing varies.
The manufacturer reports that improvement may last up to five months. Your own response will guide the conversation about maintenance. For frown lines between the brows, prescribing information specifies retreatment no more frequently than every three months.
The injection portion of an appointment generally takes about 10 to 20 minutes. Your visit also includes assessment, a review of your medical history, and personalized care instructions.
