Beyond Resurfacing: Why Laser-Coring™ Is Changing the Conversation Around Advanced Skin Aging

There is a point when “better skin” is no longer really about glow.

The pigmentation may be only part of the problem.

The fine lines have become deeper.

The texture feels more established.

The skin around the eyes, mouth, cheeks, or jawline looks less supported.

And treatments that once created a beautiful refresh may no longer feel like they are addressing what you actually see.

This is an important distinction in aesthetic medicine.

Because there is a difference between resurfacing skin and remodeling it.

At Nude Medical Aesthetics, The Nude Transformation by UltraClear® Laser-Coring™ was designed for that next level of correction.

Not simply to polish the surface.

To work more deeply within the architecture of the skin.

The Gap Between a Laser Facial and Surgery

Modern aesthetics gives us extraordinary options.

We can soften expression lines with BOTOX®.

Restore or support facial structure with injectables.

Treat pigmentation with BBL®.

Improve texture with fractional resurfacing.

Stimulate collagen with RF microneedling.

And when significant tissue repositioning is required, surgery remains its own category entirely.

But there has historically been an interesting space between aggressive skin resurfacing and surgical intervention.

What if the primary concern is not volume?

What if it is not simply pigment?

What if the skin itself has become more wrinkled, crepey, scarred, or lax?

That is where Laser-Coring™ becomes particularly interesting.

First: What Exactly Is Laser-Coring™?

The Nude Transformation is powered by UltraClear's proprietary 2910 nm cold-fiber laser technology.

Instead of treating only the outermost surface of the skin, Laser-Coring™ creates extremely precise microscopic channels that extend into deeper tissue at customized depths.

Within those channels, microscopic columns of tissue are selectively removed.

The surrounding skin remains intact.

That matters because the untreated tissue surrounding each microchannel becomes part of the skin's natural repair environment while the laser treatment initiates a process of contraction, healing, and longer-term collagen remodeling.

It is fractional treatment—but with a fundamentally different objective.

Not simply resurfacing. Strategic tissue remodeling.

UltraClear currently positions its Laser-Coring™ technology specifically for deeper wrinkles and folds, while Nude utilizes the technology as its most advanced approach to concerns including established wrinkles, laxity, scarring, textural irregularities, and advanced signs of aging.

How Small Is “Microscopic”?

Very.

And this is where the technology becomes especially fascinating.

In a published histologic study of UltraClear's 2910 nm Laser-Coring™ technology, researchers examined actual laser-created microchannels in human submental tissue.

The average channel measured approximately 243 microns in diameter—less than one-quarter of a millimeter—with an average depth of approximately 980 microns.

In other words, the treatment can create highly controlled channels approaching a millimeter into the tissue while affecting only a microscopic fraction of the skin at each individual treatment point.

The same study reported a relatively narrow surrounding zone of coagulation, illustrating the precision with which the fiber laser can remove tissue while limiting unnecessary thermal spread.

The study was small, so its findings should be interpreted accordingly, but the histology offers a compelling look at what is physically occurring beneath the surface.

That precision is the point.

Because when you are treating the face, more energy is not automatically better.

More control is better.

“Cold Fiber” Does Not Mean the Laser Is Literally Cold

This is worth clarifying.

UltraClear is frequently described as a “cold fiber laser,” but that does not mean there is no heat involved.

Laser energy still interacts with tissue.

The difference is in how precisely that energy can be delivered.

The 2910 nm wavelength is highly absorbed by water within the skin, allowing the laser to efficiently ablate targeted tissue. UltraClear's pulse technology is engineered to minimize unnecessary thermal injury to the tissue surrounding the treatment zone compared with more heat-intensive approaches.

Think precision rather than brute force.

The goal is to place the treatment effect where it is wanted—and minimize it where it is not.

That difference can become especially important when performing advanced resurfacing and deeper remodeling, where treatment intensity must always be balanced against recovery.

When a Wrinkle Becomes More Than a Surface Problem

Not every wrinkle needs Laser-Coring™.

In fact, most do not.

A fine line created by dehydration is different from an etched wrinkle.

A wrinkle caused primarily by repetitive muscle movement is different from one associated with declining skin quality and laxity.

And a superficial texture concern is fundamentally different from an acne scar that extends more deeply into the skin.

The Nude Transformation becomes a conversation when the concern has moved beyond simple refinement.

Deep + Established Wrinkles

As collagen architecture changes with age, some wrinkles become increasingly fixed within the skin.

At that point, simply improving the surface may soften their appearance without adequately addressing their depth.

Laser-Coring™ gives us another dimension of treatment by allowing controlled remodeling deeper within the tissue.

Skin Laxity + Crepiness

Laxity is not pigment.

It cannot simply be exfoliated away.

For appropriately selected patients, Laser-Coring™ combines microscopic tissue removal with a collagen remodeling response designed to create progressively smoother, firmer-looking skin.

Acne Scars + Deeper Texture

Scars create alterations within the structure of the skin itself.

Because Laser-Coring™ depth, coverage, and treatment pattern can be customized, it provides another sophisticated option when superficial resurfacing alone may not adequately address more established textural irregularities.

Advanced Photoaging

Years of UV exposure do not affect only pigmentation.

They can also contribute to changes in collagen, texture, wrinkles, and the overall integrity of the skin.

When several of these concerns exist simultaneously, treating only the surface may tell only part of the story.

The Most Important Setting Is Not on the Machine

It is the treatment plan.

One of the most sophisticated aspects of UltraClear® Laser-Coring™ is not simply how deeply it can treat.

It is how precisely the treatment can be customized.

Depth.

Coverage.

Pattern.

Intensity.

Treatment area.

Recovery expectations.

Skin quality.

Anatomy.

Previous procedures.

All of these matter.

At Nude, we do not believe every face should receive the same laser treatment simply because the device is capable of delivering it.

The treatment should match the patient.

A delicate area around the mouth may require a completely different strategy from the cheeks.

Acne scarring may require a different approach from generalized laxity.

Someone seeking subtle correction with a shorter recovery should not necessarily receive the same treatment as someone intentionally pursuing a more transformative result.

Technology creates possibility. Expertise determines how it is used.

What Does Recovery Actually Look Like?

The Nude Transformation is not a zero-downtime treatment.

Nor do we position it as one.

Laser-Coring™ intentionally creates controlled microscopic injury within the skin. Redness, swelling, sensitivity, and visible signs of healing can be expected following treatment.

The extent and duration of recovery depend on treatment depth, coverage, the areas treated, individual healing response, and the specific protocol selected.

More intensive treatment protocols are intentionally designed to create a deeper regenerative response and typically involve several days of visible downtime. During the early stages of healing, it is normal to experience redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, and light superficial crusting as the skin begins its renewal process.

Which is why we believe the recovery conversation should happen before treatment.

Not afterward.

Patients should understand what their skin is going to look like, how to care for it, what is normal, and when they can comfortably return to their usual routine.

For advanced laser rejuvenation, planning the recovery is part of planning the treatment.

At Nude, The Treatment Does Not End When the Laser Turns Off

The Nude Transformation is intentionally designed as an experience rather than a single device appointment.

Immediately following treatment, our protocol incorporates Age-Zero® Exosomes as part of the post-procedure experience.

Patients also receive a series of three CO2Lift® Pro carboxytherapy masks to use as directed throughout the recovery period, creating continued hydration and post-treatment support as the skin heals and renews.

Because advanced rejuvenation should not be defined solely by what happens during those minutes with the laser.

How the skin is supported afterward matters too.

That philosophy is central to how we approach regenerative aesthetics at Nude.

Treat intelligently. Recover intentionally. Allow the skin time to remodel.

The Result Is Not Finished When the Skin Looks Healed

This may be one of the most important things to understand about collagen remodeling.

Healing and results are not the same timeline.

The visible surface of the skin recovers first.

Underneath it, remodeling continues.

Collagen production and reorganization occur gradually, which means improvements in texture, firmness, and overall skin quality can continue evolving after the initial recovery period.

That is why evaluating an advanced laser treatment too early can miss the point.

We are not only waiting for redness to disappear.

We are waiting for biology to happen.

The ideal patient is not defined by an age.

You do not automatically need an aggressive treatment because you are 50, 60, or 70.

And being younger does not automatically mean deeper correction is inappropriate.

We look at the skin.

The Nude Transformation may be considered for patients concerned with:

  • Deep or established wrinkles

  • Skin laxity

  • Crepey skin quality

  • Acne scarring

  • Deeper textural irregularities

  • Advanced sun damage

  • More pronounced signs of skin aging

  • Concerns that have reached the limits of lighter resurfacing

  • A desire for more meaningful correction without moving directly to surgical intervention

Just as importantly, it may not be the right treatment for someone whose primary concerns can be addressed beautifully with a lighter approach.

More treatment is not the objective.

The right treatment is.

Transformation Should Still Look Like You

There is an outdated idea that a “transformative” aesthetic treatment should dramatically change the way someone looks.

We disagree.

The most beautiful transformation is often the opposite.

You still look completely like yourself.

But the texture is smoother.

The skin appears firmer.

The wrinkles are softened.

Scarring is less noticeable.

Light reflects more evenly.

Your complexion looks healthier, more polished, more resilient.

Nothing looks added.

Nothing looks artificial.

The skin simply looks extraordinarily well cared for.

That is the philosophy behind The Nude Transformation.

Not transformation into someone else.

Transformation into the most refined version of your own skin.
